About us
Coaching Staff
The East Bay Eclipse Soccer Club strives to offer quality coaches throughout the club, regardless of a team’s age or level of play. Potential coaches will go through an application process (including a background check) and an interview process to ensure the club is hiring the right kind of coaches and, more importantly, the right kind of people. Coaches will be trained and evaluated on a regular basis to ensure that our coaches are improving as well as our players. Since the East Bay Eclipse Soccer Club has boys and girls teams, the club also regularly has male and female coaches on staff.
All Eclipse coaches commit to the Eclipse Philosophy, which is a coaching style that puts the development of the kids as players and as people at the forefront of all decisions. We want the kids to enjoy their time at the field, while they improve their skills. A coach has the ability to have a major positive impact on the life of a child they are coaching, and our coaches take this responsibility seriously.
The East Bay Eclipse Soccer Club focuses on having players experience a variety of coaches, as opposed to only a single coach. This allows for players and teams to experience and learn from a variety of coaching styles. Different coaches have varying strengths and weaknesses, so having a staff available to all teams will also allow for different issues within a player or team to be spotted, corrected and improved. All teams have a head coach assigned to them, which allows for the teams to form a sense of familiarity with their head coach. The assigned coach is present at all practices and games for their team with other coaches and/or directors there to help.
