great soccer doesn't require giving up everything else

Two practices a week. No tryouts. No weekend games. The same Eclipse coaches who work with our competitive teams — in a structure built around your life, not the other way around.

Eclipse Development is our Summer and Fall training program for players U9–U17. It runs on one belief: that serious coaching and a manageable schedule are not mutually exclusive.

You get the same staff, the same philosophy, and the same standard of training as our competitive program. What you don't get is a ten-month commitment, weekend tournaments, or a schedule that takes over your calendar.

who it's for

This community is full of kids who play three sports, families whose summers don't stay put, and players who burned out somewhere along the way and aren't sure they want to go back — but miss the game. Eclipse Development was built for all of them.

It was also built for players who are working their way toward competitive tryouts and want real coaching while they get there. And for players who have no intention of ever trying out and just want to play soccer twice a week for the rest of their childhood.

Every single one of those is the right reason to be here.

what it looks like

Two 1.5-hour practices per week, grouped by age — U9–U12 and U13+. Led by Eclipse staff coaches, including our head coaches. The focus is technical development, ball confidence under pressure, and small-sided competitive play.

No NorCal league games. No tournaments. Weekends are yours.

Practice shirts required. Full club uniforms are not. Eclipse Development players are welcome to add Eclipse clinics and Eclipse+ sessions — you're part of the Eclipse family and the door is open.

the bridge

Many of our current competitive players trained here first. Not because they had to — because it worked. When they were ready for a roster spot, they went through standard tryouts and earned one.

Some players train in Eclipse Development for years and never want anything different. That's not a lesser outcome. That's a kid who played soccer, got better at it, and kept loving it. After sixteen years of watching youth sports grind kids down, we'll take that every time.
