We have hired Daniel Kamenetzky as our club's Director of Development! Daniel has been involved in sports for 35 years, participating as a competitive athlete, teacher of physical education, coach, performance analyst, training designer and businessman. His career started in his native Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he was a teacher of physical education in schools working with youth in areas of motricity, competitive sports (soccer, rugby, track and field, volleyball, swimming), sports sciences and health education. In parallel, he was also part of a multidisciplinary team that evaluated and consulted with professional teams and athletes. During that time, he provided methodological support to professional Argentinian soccer teams such as Ferrocarril Oeste and River Plate. He moved to Berkeley, California at the end of 1999 to support his wife’s career opportunity as a scientist, where he continued his education, obtaining a Master in Kinesiology from Cal State East Bay, a Master in business from AAC and a Master in Big Data Analysis from Murcia, Spain. Since then, Daniel has worked as a sports performance methodologist, assisting competitive and recreational athletes in the areas of training design and rehabilitation. Daniel is the founder of consulting firm Spandrel Analytics, which provides player evaluations, training design, academy developmental strategy, and performance data analysis to youth academies and professional teams of diverse sports. Among his professional experience in the US, we can cite consulting with several BayArea Soccer Academies, design and development of the Athlete Development Program at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland, and creation and coaching of the Women's Rugby Team program at St Mary’s College in Moraga. As a part of the coaching team of the Cal Women's Rugby Team, he evaluated and performed training design for Cal and All Blues Women Rugby Teams. For the last 9 months, Daniel has been a part of our institution coaching two of our Eclipse teams. During his time with us, he brought to the club new strategies to develop our players, interact with parents, and help in the education of the coaching staff. We think that Daniel’s professional experience and knowledge can help our club to achieve a new level of proficiency and performance towards a higher opportunity of experience and competitiveness for all our club’s participants. Daniel lives in Berkeley with his wife and daughter who plays volleyball at Berkeley High School and local volleyball clubs. He also has a son that moved to Barcelona, Spain, to pursue his dream of competing in the European soccer environment. Please welcome Daniel to the Eclipse Family in his new role as the East Bay Eclipse Soccer Club’s Director of Development.
