After careful consideration of the current and projected state of the pandemic, county and state policies, and the recent decisions of our local school districts, the Eclipse Board of Directors has made the decision that we will not be pursuing a normal fall season for 2020. The club will not be forming teams for competitions this fall nor will be collecting our normal club dues this year.
Using much of the same data as our local school districts have, it has become clear that distance learning is the path we will take at this time. While it is certainly not ideal when compared to what our normal fall looks like, we will continue to offer Zoom training this fall to keep our commitment to the players.
The California Interscholastic Federation, the governing body for high school sports in California, recently announced that there will be no high school sports allowed during the fall of 2020 per state and individual county guidelines. Their hope is to return to sports this winter pending review of the pandemic status and guidelines at that time. Similar to the CIF, we will continue to monitor how things progress with plans to return to in-person training programs when it can be done safely and align with county and state health directives. Per the county and state, youth sports are not expected to be allowed again until we are to a full reopen (phase 4).
We will update our website as things progress.
